Interior Design Trends for 2018

I have recently signed up for an online interior design course and am so far loving it! I have always been interested in how different interior design ideas can be used to transform a space and can quite happily spend evenings looking at the latest design trends on Pinterest. Which is why I have put together the top 5 trends for 2018 that you should know if you are planning on having a massive interior overhaul this year or like me just looking to inject some newness and fresh ideas into your home. From 70s Terrazzo patterns to mixed metals and various shades of green, 2018 looks to be an exciting new take on some of our old favourites. I hope this post inspires you to inject a little newness into your home.

Starting with Sage, the number one colour for 2018. A neutral shade that is both calming and stylish.

Let you home be speckled with Terrazzo this year, this beautiful marble comes straight from the 70’s and looks amazing in everything from wallpaper to soft furnishings and even plant pots! I am definitely going to key my eye out for some Terrazzo inspired cactus pots over the next couple of months.

The Herringbone pattern is an old classic in the world of interiors, however I have been noticing it more and more recently particularly in coffee shops and scandi inspired cafes. I love the simplicity of the pattern and how it can add texture to a space in a relatively subtle way.

Plants of all shapes and sizes are a great way to add colour and interest to you home, this years must have plant is anything patterned!

Mixed Metals continues to be a massive trend for 2018, its a great way to add interest and depth to a space.  Don’t be afraid to mix different metal finishes, one of my favourite combinations is the warmth of brass and copper highlights against cool silver and chrome.
