Its the first weekend in December and Olive and I are well and truly practicing the art of cosiness!
The darker, chiller evenings that December brings is the perfect excuse to light those candles, wrap up in cosy knitwear and maybe finally read that book under a warm blanket. Before the madness of the Christmas festivities well and truly begins, make the most of the long dark evenings by perhaps whipping up some comfort food in the kitchen or just curling up on the sofa with a large mug of tea.
The 91 Magazine is currently our reading material of choice, an independent lifestyle and interiors magazine that feels you with inspiration with every page. The A/W 17 issue is all about getting cosy with textiles and is full of images of beautiful homes that one day I wouldn’t mind living in! There are also several lovely creative interviews and tutorials on how to use various different textiles and fabrics in the home.
One of my favourite features is a tutorial on loom weaving based in the Bristolian venue The Forge with hand weaving designer Lucy Davidson from one of my favourite blogs Peas and Needles. I love Lucy’s blog as its always full of inspiring ideas that make me want to pick up a ball of wool and create something!
Is this AW17 issue of the 91 Magazine there is a great section on independent shops that stock fab soft furnishings, I am a sucker for a knitted blanket! It also features a rather lovely Instagram edit of a selection of feeds that feature textiles in their work, from botanical dyers to crochet. This is my first copy of the 91 Magazine and I have really enjoyed every page especially finding out about some of the newest creative boutiques and designers as well as longingly admiring all of the beautiful homes!
